Folk Song Walk and Tea Enjoy traditional folk songs as you explore Bere Marsh Farm Join Dorchester-based folk singer Alastair Braidwood for a walk at Bere Marsh Farm, accompanied by traditional folk songs from Dorset and further afield. Stopping to sing folk songs that tell of the land, the people in it and the enduring connection we have to nature, Alastair will lead us along the Angela Hughes nature reserve, developed from the old Somerset and Dorset railway line, and then on to Ham Down, with its wonderful views of the Dorset Stour and Hambledon Hill. Stopping next at the Nine Acre field, our new wetland site, Alistair will lead us onwards then towards Drove Pond and Mill Mead, framed by the tumbledown remains of the miller’s cottage. Movement and song sharpen the appetite, so the walk finishes, back at the farm, with a hearty tea of homemade savoury scones and cakes.
