Two drop-in events on Green Farm's heathland habitat

Come along to meet us at Green Farm as we share the wonder of heathland habitats and species which thrive in these environments:

Monday 20th July 10am-12 midday

Thursday 23rd July 3pm-6pm

As well as CRT staff and volunteers, heathland experts will be on hand from ARC (Amphibian and Reptile Conservation), bird and butterfly monitors, experts from Natural England, Surrey Wildlife Trust, Surrey Fire & Rescue Service and Haslemere Biodiversity Group.

We will be available throughout the sessions to talk with you about our plans and answer any questions you may have.

Folk Song Walk and Tea

Explore a beautiful part of the county, discover the nature to be found on our doorstep, and hear songs relating to the natural and rural world, we meet along the way. Followed by drinks, homemade savoury scones and cakes.
Creative workshop: willow weaving garden sculptures

Weave your own garden sculpture such as a dragonfly or flower using willow harvested from Bere Marsh Farm. Guided by expert Yanina Stockings, you'll learn different techniques, ideal for beginners and keen weavers.
Saturday creative at the farm

Every Saturday 11am-12pm from May to September (unless other events on). Free creative sessions with Charlotte, both guided and self-led, which connect you to the wildlife and landscape of Bere Marsh Farm. Donations welcome.
Summer workshop: grow mushrooms on wood

Led by expert mycologist Andy Knott of Jurassic Coast Mushrooms, a hands-on workshop to learn how and why to grow mushrooms in wood. Take the log home with you to grow mushrooms in your garden.

Join our enchanting bat walk around Bere Marsh Farm, led by bat expert Mariko Whyte from the Dorset Bat Group. We'll provide heterodyne detectors for you to use to help identify species, plus Mariko will share many fascinating bat facts along the way.

What We Do

The CRT promotes nature-friendly farming to help reverse biodiversity decline and combat climate change. We believe nature is integral to good farming and we protect, promote and regenerate our land and all life on it. We put our philosophy into practice on over 2,000 acres of working farms, small-holdings and woodland across England.

Slow-worms – the gardener’s best friend

The UK has 6 native reptile species including the curious slow-worm (Anguis fragilis). Although serpent-like in appearance, slow-worms are in fact limbless lizards and an amazing example of de-evolution.
